Yorkshire day

When we passed the #11 lift bridge at Ivy House Road I drew close to the side to wait for the deckie to lower the bridge. When we shoved off, an old tyre found it's way around the prop. Luckily it was stretched and floppy and came free after about 15 minutes of negotiation. Unfortunately as I released it, it sunk and despite fishing with the boat hook I could not find it to permanently remove it from the canal. We are moored at Endon on the Caldon canal. Despite the rain we have enjoyed the galleries and museums at the potteries.
We travelled up the Caldon to where it meets the River and then winded and returned to Endon, raining most of the way. This time we moored just past the BW point (bridge 30) for 4 nights. Reason is, we hired a car from enterprise for three days and needed a safe mooring and a safe car park spot. On fri we did the big shop and only had a 50m walk to the boat loaded with stuff. Rhaps is now low in the water with cases of beer and wine, cans of lobster bisque, aussie, french and spanish wine. Yesterday we went to Yorkshire for Yorkshire day and the coal mining museum at Wakefield. Today went to the Nantwich transport festival (read Car Show) and then to the Gladstone museum. Both were thoroughly worthwhile' Guess what!!! Today was sunny, unbelievable but true.
Tomorrow we return the car then shove off to rejoin the Trent and Mersey, turn left and head to Stone.
